These studs replace the factory main bolts that are prone to snapping upon removal or re-installation. There are added benefits when using our main studs. You are about 75% less likely to pull the threads out of the engine block when you torque these down. There is more thread engagement with our studs over the factory bolts (we use all threads possible and threads are oversized by about .002" for a better grip). This makes for worry free engine assembly.
As with all of our studs, these are machined from high alloy steel and roll-threaded after heat-treat. Unlike the factory main bolts, the steel is properly tempered to prevent them from snapping.
