Warranty
We offer a money back guarantee that our kit will not crack your engine block upon installation. Inspect your block thoroughly for cracks before you begin installing the studs; there are some Northstars out there prone to cracking. To learn more click Here. To claim warranty on a cracked block:
1) Take photographs of the crack.
2) Pack up the engine block with the studs (upper portion only, bare block) and send to: Northstar Performance, 373 West Stutsman, Pembina ND 58271.
3) If deemed to be the fault of our kit; a check will be in the mail to you. Please include your address.
The primary reason that Northstar engine blocks sometimes crack (seen mostly on 2000-2001 model year cars) is because some of the head bolts let go. The original head bolt threads corrode away, and then the bolt can no longer do its job. The clamp-load this bolt used to carry, is now shifted to the other head bolts, creating unusual stress patterns in the coolant jacket area. This is why I cannot stress heavily enough; if you suspect head gasket leaks of any kind- and you have the finances ready to go ahead and get your Northstar fixed; do it ahead of time. Proper clamp-load distribution is critical to reducing stress areas in the engine block. That is one of the main reason our stud kits work so well; they distribute the torque and clamp load better than any other kit on the market!
