What we do when we fix your Cadillac
- Engine is removed from the car
- The engine is carefully disassembled with parts in order. Condition of parts is noted
- Timing components are washed, rinsed in alcohol, then blown dry
- Bearings, crankshaft & camshaft journals are inspected for wear and scoring
- Gasket surfaces are cleaned thoroughly, and checked for flatness and imperfections
- Pistons, valves, and combustion chambers are cleaned, carbon deposits are removed
- Oil pan, camshaft and timing covers are washed clean, rinsed and dried
- Engine is reassembled with extreme care, using top-quality gaskets, our patented studs, using all of the correct J-tools (the same tools dealers use)
- The engine is pre-lubed, filled with oil, and then re-installed into your car. All of the original bolts and brackets return to the proper locations.
- The engine is test run and we double check all of our work, to ensure nothing has been missed or overlooked. We then run diagnostics to ensure everything is operationing properly.
