Hi to all I'm a new member here and would like to tell you all about my over heating problems. As most of you know the 4.6 northstar has it's issues with over heating and there's tons of people who say yeah I can do it. But it's hard to find some one you can trust. Well I did some research and found jake from northstar performance. I must admit I was nervous to let anyone touch my car but jake reassured me he is the man for this job. I was sold when I called the hotel and they new all about jake and told me many people have stayed there and all had good reviews. So I booked my room called jake to ask him to do the job. I took my car to him on Monday afternoon and went to the hotel room. I got a call on Wednesday my cars ready. Jake sr came and picked me up (really nice guy) took me to where jake was working on my car. After a short awhile- my car was purring again. Jake in my eyes is a super nice guy knows his stuff when it comes to caddies. I have only put on around 800 k since the job but I am impressed in the quality of his workmanship. If you are like me you cringe anytime you must use an insert to fix damaged threads and especially when the application is a head bolt. I have tried both Time-Sert and Helicoil kits to repair stripped head bolt threads with less than satisfactory results. Northstar Performance's kits are an ingenious alternative to inserts. The Northstar kits are very easy to use. Bolt a jig plate to the engine block, drill the existing holes out, rethread and install the new studs. It's that easy. "Jake, You hit nail on the head, I went out started it and it no longer had white smoke coming out. The engine smelled funny at first but I think that was engine cleaner I used, as that is slowly going away. The studs worked great! Warmed the car up and it didn't go past 12 o'clock on temp guage. I'm going to flush radiator again and change the oil again to make sure antifreeze is out of everything and drive the wheels off it. been down for almost a year. Thanks for everything! Having two Northstar vehicles with head gasket troubles, I have chosen Northstar Performance's patented Sure Grip studs for my Northstars. It looked like it's the most durable repair available, and it turned out to be true. The engines are stronger than ever even after 3 years and around 30,000 miles after the repair. I am hoping (and am sure) that the repair will outlast the car. Throughout the whole repair, Jake answered many questions I had and he was a tremendous help for a newbie to the Northstar world. Highly recommended!

Jake, The engine I rebuilt for my father using your studs last fall now has 30000 miles on it in already!. Going strong. Had to recently replace intake plenum tube for PO171 and PO174 codes but now she's back on the road. Keep up the good work.
